If you own a business, I suppose it’s your prerogative whether you choose to serve a customer or not, although people have been sued for discrimination for that choice. But when you’re a dentist in the U.K., funded by the government’s (NHS), then you give up that right to be picky.
It appears 32-year-old Muslim dentist, Omer Butt, is once again in trouble for refusing to treat female patients who refused to or hijab. Not surprisingly, Butt’s brother was spokesman for the now-defunct Islamic extremist group al-Muhajiroun
With one reprimand from the General Dental Council (GDC) already under his belt, when he told an Asian mother, several years ago, he would not treat her if she did not wear a hijab, he continues to flout NHS guidelines, by insisting Muslim women wear Islamic garb whether they want to or not. Imposing those strict requirements and refusing treatment as a result of non-compliance, is against NHS policies.
